BRIDAL STYLE
Misty’s Bridal Style
Misty Evers is a good friend from college and we reconnected while living in New York. This is a perfect example of on of my Bridal Style shoots! Misty has been married for almost four years and wanted some more shots of herself in her GORGEOUS dress. So she had her father ship her dress from California (thanks Dad!).
We started at Grand Central Station where Misty changing into her dress in one of the public bathrooms, which was so hilarious. (Sorry Misty. Had to mention it.) We took some amazing shots in Grand Central then hopped on the 6 train. For the record, I love New Yorkers. Misty, Ian and I hopped on the train. Two photographers and a woman in a wedding dress…and did those New Yorkers look up? Nope. Not even a double take. I love it. After we got off at 77th street we headed into Central Park and it was just magical. After hitting a couple locations in Central Park, we ended at The Plaza which felt appropriate. (She changed out of the dress in the Plaza’s restroom. Much better.) Misty was a fantastic bride and her face just photographs so beautifully. Here are just a few selects from that shoot.
Jon + Kelly
Jon + Kelly are just downright fun. Kelly and I met 6 years ago doing summer stock together and she is one of my favorites. And her husband Jon is honestly one of the wittiest people I know. Jon + Kelly live in New York and are brilliant actors.
I am so grateful to them for doing this shoot with me. While living in New York I had an idea to do a shoot with the gorgeousness that is Jon + Kelly. Over some wine I brought it up, “Hey Kelly! I know you guys have been married over a year, but wouldn’t it be fun to do a bridal style shoot in the theatre district? We could go to Times Square, hit a theatre, and then go to your roof!” And both of them were all for it. (Thank God!) They were troopers, especially Kelly who was wearing her backless, silk char muse wedding dress at the end of November in Manhattan. It was cold people! Smart girl though…she wore her Uggs…and changed into her killer Stuart Weitzman stilettos only when she had to. (See if you can spot us doing the switch!)
I could not be more thrilled with these shots. A huge thanks to Kelly + Jon. Ian and I miss you guys and can’t wait to have brunch with you whenever we visit the city!
